I just upgraded to the 18.04.2024 version earlier today and been having issues since. Issue is with the selection of NAA option. When I click on NAA, the same does not get selected and it displays a blank browser screen. When I open my PureOS ip again in the browser, it displays both the Audio and System tabs and shows NAA selected but HQP does not play anything.

@ppy can you look into this. Meanwhile, can you share the 23.03.2024 firmware again to be downloaded?

The problem is not with the firmware.
Check these two options:

  1. Is there an additional network interface on the computer running HQP? For example VPN interface.
  2. A second HQP may be open somewhere on your local network.

Something is not right with the firmware for sure and the issue is with protocol selection. When naa works and I select raat, it doesnt get selected. Then when i click lms or any other protocol, it shows two protocols being selected at once but really naa is the only thing working. I need to go stop music in roon, come back to pureos interface and click on raat multiple times to select it.

To confirm the issue, i went back to the download link on puredsd.ru and downloaded the software (firmware from 2023) and all worked fine.

When i came back to this new firmware, again the same issues arose.

Worth checking it at your end!

Hello ppy,

I was wondering if there is a way to install Plexamp on PureOS. Additionally, are you planning to officially support Plexamp on PureOS in the future?

Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated.

BeagleBone’s hardware resources are not sufficient to run Plex server on it.

dear ppl, If the BeagleBone’s hardware resources are insufficient to run the Plex server, do you think it would also struggle to support Plexamp, which is designed as an endpoint for music playback from a Plex server? Hello guys, i have some questions i hope someone can answer:

  1. Where can i find the last version of PureOS including botic driver and latest NAA for BBB?
  2. Does that include an appropriate version of NAA software to be used with HQP6?
  3. How should BBB using that version be turned off, considering i have an Hermes Isolator with battery backup for shutdown? Does PureOS have the botic shutdown procedure active or should i simply turn off the power without caring about possible damage?

  1. The latest version is https://puredsd.ru/Pure.gz + online update.
  2. No. The latest version available for this platform is networkaudiod_5.1.5-67_armhf.deb
  3. The BBB (BeagleBone Black) inputs are highly sensitive. If you feed a signal to an input while the BBB is powered down, there is a high chance of damaging that input. If your Hermes Isolator is sending an MCLK signal, that is a single point of failure. I usually install a buffer powered by the BBB’s VCC. In this case, cutting the power is perfectly safe.

Thank you for your answers! Just some clarifications, if possible:

  1. I downloaded the file you linked, should i update it online directly while running on BBB?
  2. And is it possible to update NAA version to >6 while on SD and running? (Sorry i know very little about Linux…)
  3. I understand, and i think that’s why Botic includes the battery backup function. Is it active on last versions of PureOS? I ask because my BBB is mounted inside my dac enclosure, so i cannot easily reach its power off button everytime i have to shut down the dac. So the battery saved my BBB for years while powering off and without it, it would certainly have been damaged hundreds of times… What should i do to poweroff using PureOS?

Hi Pavel. My old BBB Rev C went bad and I had to buy a new one which is Rev D. I downloeded the PureOS file from your website and flashed it on to two separate SD cards using Balena Etcher successfully. However, both cards dont boot with BBB Rev D. Can you please look into this and provide me with a PureOS version which can boot into the BBB Rev D?

  1. Yes. The firmware will perform an OTA (over-the-air) update to the latest version.
  2. V6.X for this armhf platform simply does not exist.
  3. I have already answered this in my first response. You must not allow a logic high on the inputs when the BeagleBone is powered down. The battery backup function is not implemented in the firmware. I don’t know how your MCLK input is configured—that is exactly where you should expect input damage. However, if the oscillator circuit uses the same power source as the BBB, there is nothing to worry about.

It’s very strange to hear that. I looked into what’s different in Revision D. The only difference is the implementation of the HDMI output. We don’t use it, so this BeagleBone version should work with the current firmware in exactly the same way.

It seems to me that you are missing something or not following the firmware flashing instructions described on the website to the letter.

I don’t have a Revision D on hand, so I won’t be able to verify the flashing procedure for sure.

Hi Pavel,

A few things which makes me confident that the steps im following arent wrong. This is my fourth BBB that i am using with PureOS. Never once before working with rev d, was i unable to boot PureOS. Plus there is hardly any complications when it comes to burning this image onto an sd card and then booting it on to a bbb. Nevermind, ive also now ordered for a rev C from somewhere. Will update you if my steps are successful with that model.
